Katherine Covolo

Katherine Louise Powers Covolo, 97, passed away on November 8, 2021 at her son’s residence in Placerville, California. Katherine was a long-time resident of Lyman, WY.

Katherine was born on January 19th, 1924 to George Powers and Katherine Lucy Fillin. Katherine Married Louis G. Covolo on September 6th, 1941. Katherine and Gino were inseparable until Gino’s death on May 3rd, 2015. They enjoyed traveling, cruises, fishing, hunting, and camping. Katherine was very devoted to her family. Just know that we will miss all those Polenta dinners. Katherine and Gino were regulars at the senior center; if a trip was offered at the center, they were the first ones signed up. If there was a dance to be found, they were there dancing the night away.

Katherine was preceded in death by her beloved husband Gino Covolo; her parents George and Katherine Lucy Powers; her brothers Jit, Vic, Joe, Bill, Burt, Alf, and Lester; and her sisters Dot, Rose, Thelma and Mary.

Katherine is survived by her sons, Robert L. (Susan) Covolo, of Lyman, WY, Ronald G. (Donna) Covolo of Placerville, CA; a sister, Nancy (Dale) Holgate of Evanston, WY; she also leaves behind her devoted grandchildren, Brian (Wendy) Covolo of Lyman, WY, Karen (Paul) Funk of Placerville, CA, Jennifer (Joe) Banner of Goodyear, AZ, Ronnie and Nicholas Covolo of Placerville, CA, and Gina (Robert) Courter of North Carolina; Katherine also leaves behind several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
