Karen Rees, 53, was called home on February 17, 2012. She was born on February 24, 1958 to Marlo and Gertrude (Trudy) Dodge in Salt Lake City, Utah. Karen has been a resident of Evanston, Wyoming since 1989. She is survived by her four children Melinda Dodge of Evanston, WY; Kimberly Deru (Kay Cragun) of Taylorsville, UT; Eddy Fenn of Evanston, WY; Stephen (Kimberly) Rees of Evanston, WY as well as three grandchildren Malina, Michael, and Hunter.
Karen loved the Lord more than life itself. For eight years she was a member of Aspen Grove Baptist Church where she helped during VBS and taught Sunday School. More recently, she was a member of Calvary Fellowship where she was an active part of the Reformers Unanimous Program. She loved her brothers and sisters in Christ and was especially fond of the children; perhaps because she was so child-like and innocent at heart.
Karen loved collecting butterflies and M&M knick knacks. She was very creative and artistic and loved to do things with her hands. She was often heard bragging about the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren and touched the lives of everyone she met. The impression she left will not soon be forgotten, but comfort is found in knowing that she is chasing “flutterbys” and eternal life.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Feb 21, 2012 at 6 p.m. in the Crandall Funeral Home.
