Kaleb was born to Paul and Jacque Skog in Ogden, Utah and died due to complications of cystic fibrosis in Laramie. He lived his life in Evanston until he went to college, graduating summa cum laude in May of 2011 with degrees in Philosophy and French from the University of Wyoming. Kaleb was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis in 1989 and struggled to define himself within the confines of that disease. However, he had a zest for life which manifested itself in writing a novel, reading French literature, practicing Philosophy, traveling and spending time with friends and family. He also loved watching England soccer. He was granted a Make A Wish trip in 2006 to the World Cup Soccer match between England and Paraguay—it was a highlight of his life. He also visited France again in 2008 with his mom and friends and was able to visit Normandy beach where his grandfather had served in WWII. This was a very memorable moment for Kaleb. Despite the obstacles of his illness, Kaleb made the best of his life and recently told his mom that sometimes you have to have a bad hand of cards to be able to appreciate when you get a good hand.
Kaleb had a wealth of friends and family and was very excited to have had a nephew, Julian, born in October of 2012. Kaleb is survived by his twin brother, Lucas; his older brother, Jake; Jake’s girlfriend, Jordan and their son, Julian; his parents, Jacque and Paul; his maternal grandparents, Melvin and Ruth Marsh and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Peace be your journey, Kaleb. We love you and will miss you deeply.
