Joyce Bailey, 78, passed away In Idaho Falls, ID on January 26, 2013. Joyce was born on October l4, 1934 in Colby, WI to Alvin and Theresa Foster. She was the youngest of 17 children. She married the love of her life, Lloyd Bailey on February 27, 1952. They enjoyed 40 years together and raised six children. Joyce was an active member of the Catholic church and spent many years teaching catechism and participated in guiding many children through their first communion. Joyce took pleasure in the outdoors and spent endless hours gardening. She also enjoyed camping and rides in the mountains. Joyce could often be found enjoying time with her two lovable cats, Seal and Nettie. She was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan and rarely missed a game. Above all else Joyce loved her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joyce's love and generosity towards her family and towards others was unparalleled. This was evident in her determination to overcome her own trials and to help others succeed in their recovery by devoting years of her life to SWARA giving support to those in need. She continued this commitment to helping others while working at the Wyoming State Hospital until her retirement.Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Theresa Foster, her husband Lloyd, 13 brothers and 2 sisters.
She is survived by a sister Jane Walsh; a daughter Colleen. (Larry) Schoeugarth, Fort Bridger; a daughter Peggy Akin, Blackfoot, ID; a daughter Kitty (Preston) Vercimak, Lyman; a son John Bailey, Evanston; a daughter Mary Bailey, Evanston; a daughter Karen Bailey (John Orose), Idaho Falls; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Viewing will be at 6 pm. and Rosary will be held at 7pm on Friday February 1, 2013 at Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston, WY. An additional viewing will be held at St. Helens Catholic Church in Fort Bridger, WY on Saturday February 2, 2013 at 10:00 am.
Funeral mass will begin at 11:00 am.
Interment will be at Fort Bridger Cemetery.
