Joe G Micheli passed away peacefully in his home on November 3, 2011 surrounded by his family. He was born January 3, 1927 to Joseph & Mary Micheli. He married his lifetime sweetheart Rebecca Twitchell on December 20, 1947. As a third generation rancher, he was able to work and raise his six children on the ranch he loved dearly. It brought great joy for him to attend the annual ranch bull sale just last week to see the family, cattle and heritage that meant so much to him throughout his life.
Recently, Joe was honored to attend the World War II Veteran Honor Flight to Washington, DC. He had a deep and abiding love for this wonderful country.
As a charter member of the Mountain View Lions Club, the Mountain View School Board for 27 years, a lifetime member of Wyoming Stock Growers, he demonstrated a great life of service, leadership and community involvement.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, family picnics and rides in the beautiful Uinta mountains.
Calling square dances for family, friends and groups locally and across the state was a unique and treasured past time that will be remembered by his children and grandchildren.
Joe G. is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Rebecca. His sons: Ron Micheli (Patty), Dale Micheli (Terry), both of Ft. Bridger. His daughters: Marcia Gonda (Jeff) of Sheridan, Marielle Brisko (Barney) of Ft. Bridger, Patty Taylor (Mark) of Afton, and Michelle Reach (Greg) of Vernal. His legacy will live forever through his 31 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Aileen Bugas and Dorothy Marincic, two granddaughters, Mandy Micheli and Stephanie Gonda.
Services will be held Tuesday November 8, 2011 at 11:00am at the St. Helen’s Catholic Church. Rosary will be at 6pm Monday evening with the viewing immediately following from 6:30 until 8:00pm and also an hour prior to the funeral at the Catholic Church.
