John Don Keyes

Francis, UT- John Don Keyes passed away at his home in Francis on March 14, 2021.  He was born on July 1, 1934 in Ogden, Utah to Alma Lee and Grace Elizabeth (Williams) Keyes.

He served his country in the United States Army and was a part of the Germany Occupation Forces.  He married Faye McNeil and they raised their family in the Kamas Valley.

She preceded him in death in October, 2005.

He later married Clifta Gail Corless on July 17, 2010 in Francis, Utah.

John worked for many years with U.D.O.T.  He was a construction project engineer when he retired.  He served on the Francis Town Council, and was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  He loved his family and was a proud cowboy and sheepherder.

He is survived by his loving wife Clifta, and children Susan (Beale) Cann; Julie Keyes; Johnny (Emilee) Keyes; Steven (Cindy) Keyes; and Roger (Debbie) Hall. He leaves one brother, LaMar (Janet) Keyes; and one sister Delores (Harold) Ovard.

He will also be missed by his 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandsons.

John is preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Faye; his parents, Alma and Grace; and a brother Clarence, and three sisters, Fawn, Mamie, and LuAnn.

Funeral service will be on Friday, March 19, 2021 at the Francis L.D.S. Ward Chapel.   Viewing will be on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 and Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:45 at the church.   Graveside with military honors will follow in the Francis Cemetery.
