Jimmy Dean (Jim) Reeves (83) peacefully began his eternal journey with our Heavenly Father on April 24, 2018 at the Huntsman Cancer Institute Intensive Care Unit in Salt Lake City, UT after a prolonged illness, surrounded by lots of love and his family. Jim was born on December 9th, 1934 in White, Arkansas to Wesley and Berdie (Jones) Reeves.
Jim was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Episcopal Church, Eastern Star, and was also a Korein Shriner and a 32nd degree Mason and received a Golden Veterans award for being a member for over 50 years. Jim worked for Time DC, Amoco and the Postal service for many years.
He had a passion for being outdoors especially hunting and fishing and loved being with his family and friends. He was known as the "King of One-Liners", his most famous being: "It's just another day in Paradise."
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Marie (Mathson) Reeves of Evanston, WY: his 6 children; Jimmy Reeves Jr. of New Plymouth, ID, Nola Jones of Austin, TX, Mike Reeves (Ashley) of Maiden, NC, Chris Reeves (Kathleen) of Enid, OK, Becky Tammany (Jon) of Rock Springs, WY and Mindi Rawhouser (Charlie) of Rock Springs, WY. He is also survived by his 15 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren; his brothers Carey (Bastrop, LA), Roy (West Monroe, LA), and Phil (Monroe, LA) along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Berdie and siblings; Ruby, Barbara, Floy, Marguerite, and Wes.
Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday April 28, 2018 at Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston with graveside services and military honors to follow at Evanston City Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour prior to services. A viewing will be held on Friday 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
