Jill Alexander

January 14, 1952 — April 21, 2017

Jill Alexander, age 65, passed away, suddenly, on April 21, 2017 at her home in Evanston.

She was born at the Uinta County Memorial Hospital on January 14, 1952, the daughter of Miles J. and Patricia J. Heward Alexander.

Jill attended schools in Evanston and graduated from Evanston High School in 1970. She attended Patricia Stephens College in Salt Lake City. She worked as a flight attendant for United Airlines, flying the “Friendly Skies” for thirty-five years, from the company’s Chicago hub. She owned and operated several businesses while she lived in the Chicago area. After retirement she returned to Evanston to care for her mother and to manage her mother’s store, Second Hand Rose.

She married Turner H. E. “Pete” Jones. They were later divorced. She had a long and loving relationship with Fredrick Young.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Bonnie Alexander of Evanston; an uncle and aunt, Charles and Bonnie Alexander of Payson, Utah; her devoted friend, Fred Young of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; and a host of cousins and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, several aunts and uncles and three first cousins.

She liked to work with the general public, loved to travel and enjoyed nature and animals.

As per her request a private burial has taken place at Evanston City Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be held later this summer, so her family and many friends can join together and remember her.

Memorial donations made to the Arthritis Foundation, the American Heart Association or the Humane Society would be appreciated in Jill’s name.
