Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family in the early morning of October 29, 2021, in Evanston, Wyoming.
Mom was born July 8, 1937, in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Porter M. Dalene and Helen Cook Dalene. She was the middle child of three daughters. She attended Central High School where she met the love of her life, Clyde R. Condie and embarked on what would be a lifelong love story. They were married in 1955 and later their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Utah, California, Arizona but most of their married life was spent in Wyoming. They enjoyed many trips together to Disneyland, visiting their children and attending her beloved BYU Cougar football games. But her most cherished time was spent surrounded by her grandchildren. Together they have 6 children, 28 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
Jean worked various secretarial jobs throughout her life, retiring from the Uinta County School District after over 20 years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as an ordinance worker at the Ogden Temple, where she met many friends.
Jean is survived by her husband, Clyde Condie, of 66 years; sister Judy Williams; son Mike (Kris) Condie; daughters Cathie (Don) George, Carole (Lance) Johnson; son Brad (Cathy) Condie; and daughters Christi (Eddie) Buskirk and Caryn (Jeff) Piper.
She is preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law, her sister Joann D. Dauma and brother-in-law Earl S. Condie.
Mom will be remembered for her fierce independence, her classy shoes, handbags and jewelry, her stamina for shopping, getting stains out of clothing, her legendary recipes, and bottomless candy bowl.
