Jay Vance Scoggin
Jay V. Scoggin passed away Apirl 12, 2012 in Salt Lake City, Utah after a courageous battle with depression.
He was born February 16, 1971 in Bridgeport, NE to Robert H. Scoggin and Rosa Lee Betty Gray.
After graduating from High School in Biggs, CA, he worked as a purchasing agent in the food industry and later as a manager for Redi Services, LLC in Lyman, WY.
Jay was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He met and fell head over heels in love with Chrystal Belle Meeks and soon thereafter, on June 17, 2006, they were united in marriage at the home of her grandparents in Mountain View, WY.
First and foremost Jay loved his wife Chrystal and his three daughters, Adia, Briana and Brailee more than anything in the world. Always the practical joker, Jay brought laughter to others, laughed easily himself, and his laughter was contagious and sincere. He loved to work hard and took great pride in his achievements. He was a man with the biggest heart in the whole world and would open it to those who needed it. He was easy to get along with and he loved people with a genuine interest in their well being. Jay took the world on his shoulders and gave with all of his heart and soul. Jay was such an intellectual man and was always enthusiastic about learning and trying new things. He was quick to lend a hand, so very willing to listen to anyone who had something to share, and he could give a hug that went right through you, one you wanted to stay in forever and never let go of. Through his departure, Jay has enabled countless others whom we may never know to live fuller lives because of his generous organ donations.
Jay was an outdoor enthusiast. He loved to hunt, fish, search for arrowheads, and horseback ride with his family. He loved working with wood and metal and created many beautiful western art pieces. Together he and Chrystal enjoyed beautifying their surroundings, creating an atmosphere of awe and inspiration that was as unique as they are. A visit to their home was a visit to the present encompassed by the past, filled with relics both captivating and intriguing, made even more so by their presence.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert H. Scoggin.
He is survived by his beautiful wife, Chrystal, and his three daughters, Adia, Briana and Brailee Scoggin, as well as his mother, Rosa Lee Betty Scoggin of Lemoore, Ca; his sisters Bonnie Scoggin of Albequerque, NM; Janice (Victor) Kennah of Fort Bridger, Wyoming; Patricia (Sal) Gutierrez, of Hanford, CA; and brothers Bryan of Charleston, SC; Larry (Kathy) of Lancester, PA; and Bill (Adel) of Lemoore, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
