Jarrol Jeppesen, Sr.

Jarrol Hans Jeppesen Sr., 78, passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 at his home in Fort Bridger, Wyoming.

He was born on June 7, 1939 in Soda Springs, Idaho. Jarrol married the love of his life, Verna Higley in 1961 and later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. They had five children, Jarrol Jr., Lisa, Jack, Joseph and Kay.

Jarrol had a happy childhood where he was raised with six siblings in Oakley and Grace, Idaho. Shortly after marrying Verna, he joined the Army where he served in Germany during the Cold War. Jarrol, Verna and their children made their home all over Idaho during which time he held various jobs, but the most impressive ones were Idaho State Policeman, Oakley Town Marshal and Cassia County Deputy Sheriff. Finally they settled in Wyoming where they retied in Fort Bridger.

Jarrol was a member of the American Legion and loved being a part of its many activities such as the 4th of July Parade and the duck Race. He loved hunting, fishing and going on road trips with his family. Jarrol loved people and socializing. He enjoyed telling his many stories. He loved working with wood, making just about anything. He was that talented. Christmas was his favorite holiday and he showed it by his many lights that illuminated his home with the star that people could see from afar.

Jarrol Hans Jeppesen Sr. is survived by his wife Verna Higley; his children, Jarrol (Lorrie) Jeppesen, Lisa (Mike) Prime, Jack (Shelly) Jeppesen, Joseph (Kayleen) Jeppesen and Kay (Troy) Rippetoe; two siblings, Gail (Norma) Jeppesen and Karlene (Pete) Baker and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 20, 2017 in the Urie Stake Center, 208 WY-414, Lyman, WY 82937.

A viewing will be prior to the service at the church starting at 12:30 PM.

Interment will be in Fort Bridger Cemetery following the service.
