Janice Irene McElroy

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother was called home by our Heavenly Father on December 19, 2024.

  Janice Irene David was born on December 9th, 1940, in Web City, MO, to Arvel and Elloise David. At the young age of 4, Elloise passed away from a heart condition. When Janice was 6 years old, Arvel got remarried to Ruth DeGraw. After a short time, they decided to move to Ruth's hometown of La Barge, Wyoming.

  Janice went to elementary school in La Barge and graduated from high school in Big Piney. She had many stories and fond memories from her high school years. After high school, she decided to go to nurses training in Kansas City, MO.

  After graduating from nursing training, Janice moved back to Wyoming. She worked in Jackson, Rock Springs, Soda Springs ID, Big Piney/ Mableton, and Evanston. Janice worked as a psychiatric nurse at the Wyoming State Hospital for 27 years. She also insisted on her children work there, even if it was for a short time, for the knowledge.

  Later in life, Janice found out that she loved to teach. She taught the CNA classes for the State Hospital and BOCES in Evanston, spreading her love for nursing.

 Janice met Norman McElroy and married him on February 6th, 1965. They were blessed with three children, which they both loved very much.

  Janice is survived by her children : Carey (Marc) Stogner, Patrick McElroy, Bernadette (Sam) Ottley. Her stepmother Ruth David and siblings Luella Ames, Arvella Kunz, Gayla Preece-Lednisky, Darrell David. As well as her sister-in-law Roxie (Clyde) Harris; 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grand grandchildren. can't forget over a thousand of Janice's students, which she affectionately called " Jan's Heros."

 Janice was preceded in death by her grandparents, husband Norman, father, mother, her brother Bryan David, two brother in laws Kelly Preece, Greg Kunz, and her sister in law Glena David. Plus, there are too many aunts and uncles, and cousins to name. Janice will be truly missed by everyone she ever met.
