Jack Wayne Hutchinson was born to John and Esther Bateman Hutchinson in Evanston, WY,on March 7, 1920, on County Road where he lived the rest of his life, and entered eternity on Dec 5, 2014, at the age of 94, for a glorious reunion with his wife, Bertha May Norris Hutchinson. He passed away peacefully amid the loving care of those angels at Tender Hearts Assisted Living Center and Best Home Health Hospice.
Jack lived at the Cody Ranch working beside his dad for a few years. He worked for Louis Malouf as a stock truck driver and cattle butcher shop assistant throughout his school years. He graduated from Evanston High School in 1938. He worked for the CCCs and Gibbons and Reed Construction. On September 10, 1940, he began working for the Union Pacific Repair Shops until his retirement in 1983.
Jack and Bertha were married Sept 2, 1940, in Coalville, UT, by Bishop John E Wright. Their marriage was later solomnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 17, 1960. Their first daughter, Esther Ann, was born Feb 17, 1942 and passed away on Feb 18, 1942. World War II called him to service in 1943. During the war he fought in campaigns in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany as well as the Battle of the Bulge on Utah Beach. Ronnie Wayne was born on December 24, 1943, and it was a year and ten months until Jack saw his family again. He returned to the United States on the Queen Mary and was honorably discharged from the Army in Savanna, Georgia Oct 5, 1945.
Jack and his father, John, built a home at 216 County Road where their family grew. David, Louise, Tom and Kathy were born to this family and they loved hunting, camping, fishing as a family, with the Wayman family, and his extended family. After his retirement, Jack and Bertha were very involved with the extraction program for the Church. They loved doing this service and were very enthusiastic in setting records as they completed many, many packets.
Jack is survived by his son, David (Pennie) Hutchinson of Randolph, Utah; Louise Long of Kemmerer, WY; Tom (Leanne) Hutchinson of Evanston, WY; and Kathy (Boyde) Hurdsman of Mountain View, WY; and 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Bertha in 2000, daughter, Esther Ann in 1942, and son, Ronnie Hutchinson in 2014.
A viewing will be held from 6 - 8 pm on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, with funeral services on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at 11:00 am at Crandall Funeral Home, 800 Uinta, Evanston, WY.
