Irvin Staley

Irvin LaMont Staley was born on November 3, 1927 in Coalville, Utah to Otto Lavell Staley and Elva Ione Meadows Staley. LaMont passed away peacefully in his home
in Evanston, Wyoming on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the age of 86 surrounded by his loving family.
LaMont spent his early years growing up in Upton and Coalville, Utah. After attending North Summit High School he went to work for the Burton Ranch on Wyoming's
Upper Bear River, where he developed a love for Wyoming and the outdoors.
On September 9, 1950 LaMont married the love of his life, Veda Condos, in Coalville, Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on August 21, 1951. He served
his country in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. LaMont was an engineer on the Union Pacific Railroad for 36 years, retiring in 1989. He worked tirelessly as a Boy Scout
of America Volunteer for 65 years. Uncounted young men's lives were enriched due to his great leadership, guidance and selfless service to them. He was instrumental
in developing Camp New Fork in the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming, making it the premier Boy Scout Camp that it is today. LaMont was awarded the Boy Scouts of America's
Silver Beaver Award, along with many other awards and recognitions.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, LaMont humbly accepted every calling, including Bishop of the Evanston 2nd Ward. While he was Bishop, plans for the new Elm
Street Chapel were being made and he was a very important contributor to the fund raising and building of that chapel.
LaMont is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Veda; children, John (Janice) of Ogden, UT.; Marilee (Bill) Jackson, Evanston, WY.; David (Clarissa) of Evanston, WY.; Glenn (Debra) of Rupert, ID.;
and, Christina (Pep) Brinkerhoff, of Evanston, WY; as well as 14 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. He is survived by his brothers, Owen (Superla) Staley, of Coalville, UT.; Bill (Donna) Staley,
Evanston, WY.; and Dennis (Beverly) Staley of Roy, UT.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Randall LaMont, daughters, Marie and Kathy; brother and sister in law, Kent and Darla Rae Staley and a granddaughter, Hailee Dawn Beatty.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston, WY.; and also one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Elm Street L.D.S. Church. Interment will follow services at the Evanston City Cemetery, Evanston, WY.
