Irene Spackman Wilde, 92, passed away Jan. 21, 2013, in Oakley, Utah. Irene was born November 30, 1920 in Clifton, Idaho to Marion Leander and Mary Louise Morgan Spackman. She married Layton Wilde, Feb. 27, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away Feb. 12, 1989. She then spent several winters working at the St. George Temple with her sister-in-law Leola and made many special friends.
Irene worked at the North Summit High School lunchroom for many years while her children were in school. She loved to sew and quilt, making a quilt for each of her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, making and painting ceramics, crochet, crafts, camping, walking, riding horses, and always ate very healthy foods!
She had a special bond with her brothers and sisters. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Irene is survived by her children, Connie (John) Clark, Taylorsville; Doyle (Carolyn), Bountiful; Gordon (Becky), Hoytsville; Glen, West Valley City; Bill (Linda), Hoytsville; Connie (Leon) Harward, Provo. She had 20 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Marion Spackman, sister, Ruth Andrews, and 2 under-appreciated grandchildren, Dude and Button. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, 7 sisters, 1 brother, 1 grandson, 1 great-granddaughter, and 1 great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 25, at 11 am 2013, at the Hoytsville LDS Church, 1095 S. Hoytsville Road. Viewings will be on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, 6-8 pm, and Friday, 25th, 10:00 am at the church. Interment at Oakley Cemetery.
