Helen was born in rural Hersey, Maine to a large, combined family. In her teens, she traveled to New York and Massachusetts to see the world and begin her wandering life.
Helen met and married Don Brown who was in the Army and together with their 3 children they traveled the country and the world. They were later divorced and she married a tall, dark haired cowboy, Bud Jolley and began a whole new chapter. She was one of the world’s best waitresses, became a licensed beautician, a cowgirl, a seamstress, a gold miner, and a truck driver. After they divorced she married LeNoy Wilson and continued her wanderings as a snowbird, doing mining and jewelry making, painting, weaving and many crafts.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband LeNoy, her parents Henry and Nellie Myrick, her siblings Noel Shakespeare, Joyce Shakespeare, Betty Morse, Irene Gardner, Iva Weimman, Isabelle Barney and James Myrick, and all of their spouses. She was also preceded by her son Donald W. Brown, Jr. and a grandson Kristopher Schwartz.
She is survived by her daughters LeRae Swisher and Barbara Roitz, her grandchildren Chad (Traci) Harris, Kelly (Melonie) Harris, SummerDawn (Travis) Brown, Jodi Barton, Steven (Jenilee) Schwartz, Layci (Cody Carmichael) Swisher and Kathryn Roitz. Helen was blessed to have met her great and many of her great great grandchildren as well.
Helen lived her life on her own terms and always enjoyed a new adventure and traveled and we wish her joy and love in the new adventures she has embarked upon.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston.
