Helen Fern Gines Jones, 91, returned to her Heavenly Father on July 26, 2023 at her home in Kamas, Utah, surrounded by family. She was born in Tabiona, Utah on March 6, 1932 to Ceril & Lilly May Mitchell Gines, the eldest of 6 children. She attended school in Tabiona and Kamas. She married Ray W. Jones on January 21, 1948 in Hanna, Utah. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 6, 1981. Helen loved being a mother to her 6 sons.
Helen spent over 20 years working as a paraprofessional at South Summit Elementary School. She loved working with children. They loved her and felt her genuine love. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many callings. She loved attending the temple with family and friends. Helen was involved in several Civic Clubs. Helen's greatest pleasure was having her family gather on holidays and camping trips, which included her delicious cooking.
Helen never forgot a birthday or special occasion. She put everyone's needs before her own; she was a perfect example of Christ-like love. Helen was beloved by everyone she met and her influence was far-reaching. She loved her nieces and nephews and extended family.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her siblings – Douglas, Bonnie, Billy, Jerry, and Howard. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy including her sons, Steven R.(Linda), Michael G. (Sheri), Brent C. (Mary), Glen A. (Jill), Jeffery D. (Jan), Kenneth W. (Janell), 20 Grandchildren, 36 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great-Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 1, at 11:00 am at the Kamas LDS Chapel, 100 W. Center Street in Kamas. Viewing will be Monday, July 31, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and prior to service from 9:30 to 10:45 am, also at the Kamas LDS Chapel. Services will be live- streamed at www.crandallfh.com.
