Helen died on February 10, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on January 17, 1919 in Wellsville, Utah to Ernest R. and Alma (McCombs) Harritt.
She married Leo (Pete) Bezzant in Pleasant Grove, Utah on Sept. 26, 1940.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia (Bill, deceased) Darcey, of Kamas, Utah, Shauna (Alan) Scates of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Janis (Tom) Lagray of Salt Lake City, Utah. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband and 2 brothers, Mahlon and Perry and their wives and one great grandchild.
She graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and then attended Salt Lake General Hospital nursing school, graduating in July of 1937. She took her first nursing job with American Fork Hospital. In 1943 after Pete was drafted into the army, because of World War II, she moved to Kamas, Utah with her baby where her parents were living and her father was employed as Pharmacist at the Drug Store. She continued her nursing career and Pete joined her there after discharge in 1945. He obtained work at the Drug Store and they stayed in Kamas to raise their family. Later they bought the Drug Store and renamed it Pete’s Drug and operated it till they sold it so Pete could retire. After Pete’s death in 1977, she moved to Salt Lake and continued her nursing career at several hospitals until she retired.
After retirement she stayed in Salt Lake and enjoyed her many friends and her church. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Feb. 18th at 11 : am at Intermountain Baptist Church 4774 So. 1950 West, Taylorsville, Utah.
