Harold James Saxton, 94, of Evanston, Wyoming passed away January 21, 2012 while residing at Rocky Mountain Care. He was born on January 6, 1918 in Almy, Wyoming to Elijah B. and Clara Polson Saxton. Harold was the fourth of eleven children. He married Edna Rollins on May 24, 1948 in the Logan LDS Temple.
Harold grew up and lived his life working on his ranch in Almy. He took great pride and was well known for raising Clydesdale horses.
He is survived by daughters; Loraine (Charles) McKinnon of Arcadia, Utah, Rae (Jake) Williams of Evanston and sons; Jim (Terry) Saxton of Evanston, Wesley Saxton of Riverton, Wyoming; 18 Grandchildren and 43 Great-Grandchildren. Harold is also survived by his brothers; L. Richard (Kay Ann) Saxton of Evanston, Ted (Claudine) Saxton of Woods Cross, Utah, and sisters; Rozella Hutchinson of Evanston, Pearl Marshall of Sandy, Utah; Sister-in-law Rose Saxton of Salt Lake City, Utah and brother-in-law George Rollins of Billings, Montana.
Preceding him in death were his Parents; wife Edna; son Clarence Matthews; brothers Marvin and Warren Saxton; Sisters Flora Jones, Cora Robinson, Sylvia Robinson, and Zona Hansen.
Funeral services will be held Thursday January 26 at 12:00 Noon with a viewing starting at 11:00 am at the Evanston Fifth Ward LDS Chapel at 251 Elm Street. There will be a viewing on Wednesday January 25 from six to eight pm at Crandall Funeral Home at 800 Uinta St. Burial will take place at the Evanston City Cemetery.
