Gordon Keith "Curly" Gerrard passed away June 15, 2015 at his home in Evanston, Wyoming. He was born March 9, 1931 in Evanston, Wyoming to Daniel and Lenora Gerrard, one of four children.
Curly married Jackie Smith on February 24, 1951 in Evanston, Wyoming. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Together they had two children.
He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Most of his adult life he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and had a love for trains. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing the piano, being outdoors, working crossword puzzles, fishing, and playing golf.
Curly is preceded in death by his father and mother, Daniel and Lenora Gerrard, his brother Ivar Dan Gerrard, his brother-n-law Richard Haeder and nephew Richard Haeder Jr.
He is survived by wife Jackie Gerrard of Evanston, son Brent Gordon (Susan) Gerrard of Evanston, daughter Brenda Marie (Russell) Heward of Evanston, sisters Judy Haeder of Rapid City, South Dakota and Connie Gerrard of Washington D.C., nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the LDS Fourth Ward Church at 201 Sage Street in Evanston, Wyoming. A viewing will be held Friday, June 26, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, also at the church. There will be an additional viewing from 9:00 - 9:45 AM Saturday. Interment services will be held directly following the church service at the Evanston City Cemetery.
