Glenn Ronald “Ron” Walker, passed away December 29, 2016 in Orem, Utah.
He was born on January 28, 1937 to Glenn Marchant Walker and Afton Campbell Taylor Walker in Peoa, Utah.
Ron graduated from South Summit High School in Kamas, Utah.
Ron served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Gulf States Mission. He served in several church positions including Sunday School Presidency and Cub Scouts. Ron was also part of his older sons sports team coaching staff.
Ron attended Brigham Young University for several semesters. He then attended Airplane Mechanic training schools. Ron worked at Hill Air Force Base (Clearfield, Utah) as a civilian Landing Gear Mechanic. He retired from there after 26 years.
Ron married Susan A. B. Cramer on June 6, 1963 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were later divorced.
He later married Mildred A. Allen in Ogden, Utah. They were later divorced.
Ron enjoyed singing, including singing in Church choirs as often as possible. He was also good at gardening. Some hobbies of his were fishing, puzzles, and reading. Another hobby enjoyed was genealogy. He spent many hours at the LDS Family History Center in Salt Lake City.
Ron is survived by six children- Melissa (Robert) McCoy, Brian (Vicki) Walker, Eric Walker, Meredith (Jim) Libbey, David Walker, and Daniel (Christi) Walker. He is also survived by two sibling- Richard 'Dick' (Helen) Walker and Marlene Behunin (Craig) Smuin. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers- A. Gary Walker and John Taylor Walker, one daughter- Melody Walker, and one grandson- Paul D. Welsh Jr.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the Peoa LDS Ward Chapel. Family and friends will gather at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Peoa, Utah Cemetery.
