Glenn Smith, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Saturday, December 23, 2023, at his home in Green River. He was a resident of Green River, Wyoming for 38 years and a former resident of Sheridan, Wyoming. He died following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Smith was born November 16, 1942, in Sheridan, Wyoming; the son of Clyde F. Smith and Connie Belmont Smith.
He attended schools in Sheridan, Wyoming and was a 1960 graduate of Sheridan High School.
Mr. Smith married Marjorie Jean Cook July 23, 1965, in Rawlins, Wyoming. Although Glenn and Marjorie had no children of their own, they played a special role in the lives of their nieces and nephews, especially Tracy, Anthony, and Kaylene.
He was a United States Navy Veteran. Mr. Smith worked for Tata Chemicals for 32 years and retired in August 1, 2013 as a Dispatcher. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends; golfing; computers; playing pool; hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Smith of Green River, Wyoming; two brothers, Thomas F. Smith and wife Irene of Sheridan, Wyoming; Clyde Johnathan Smith and wife Debra of Gillette, Wyoming; one aunt, Violet of Sheridan, Wyoming; several cousins; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Crandall Funeral Home, graveside services and interment will be in the Evanston City Cemetery at 1:30.
