Geraldine Thacker Workman of Lyman Wyoming passed away peacefully at the age of 74 on February 6,2018. She was born in Provo Utah on February 13, 1943 to Floyd Verl and Odessa Davis Thacker.
She married James Floyd Workman on June 5, 1971 in Heber City, Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on March 24,2012.
Jerrie was very involved in Church and community activities. She was citizen of the year for the town of Lyman. She started PTA in UCSD #6 and brought many improvements to the schools. She was sole owner of Old Fashioned Aprons and attended many craft fairs with her home sewn aprons and was also well know for her hand tied quilts. Family and friends in the valley were recipients of her aprons and quilts. She also made trek clothing for the the Pioneer Trek Re-enactment and sold Avon for Years! She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Workman, son Jamey Carl Workman, parents Floyd and Odessa Thacker , in laws, Marvel and John Hair. She is survived by daughter, Angela Valdez and grandson Zeike of Lyman, Wyoming, son Daniel Verl Workman of Rock Springs, Wyoming, stepson, Floyd Workman of East Carbon, Utah . Siblings Verle Ann (Ernest) Taylor of Kamas Utah, Edd (Peggy) Thacker of Heber City Utah, Doug (Jacquie) Thacker of Midway, Utah and Susan(Lynn) Lallatin of Lyman Wyoming and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday February 12, 2018 at the Lyman LDS Chapel , Lyman Wyo. Friends and family will gather for a viewing that morning from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Interment will be in Lyman City Cemetery on Monday February 12, 2018.
