Beloved husband, father, and “Pa” passed away peacefully on March 11, 2018. Born in Salt Lake City on January 27, 1942 to Delbert Watson and Constance “Connie” Francis Parker.
Dad worked most of his life as a truck driver at the family business, Parker Abbott Transfer & Storage and then worked at Harrington Trucking until he retired.
Pa greeted everyone with a big “hello” and made you feel like you were part of the family. He was an example to us all showing us the courage, strength and enduring love to the very end.
A true cowboy in every sense of the word. Dad loved fried chicken, a “mint julep”, puttering on the farm with his dogs and watching his favorite westerns. Some of his favorite memories were of his fishing trips on the Fremont River and deer hunting at 12 Mile Canyon. He always said he didn’t need anything but his family and some of his greatest times were those spent with his family camping or riding horses.
Jerry leaves behind his loving wife Neta of 58 years, three children, his son Jerry (MeriKae) Parker of Woodland, UT; his daughter Lorie (John) Pearce, of Woodland, UT and daughter Jamie (Tom) McCormick of Kamas, UT, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Also survived by his brother James Del (Linda) Parker of West Valley.
Preceded in death by his parents.
The family wishes to extend a thank you to Intermountain Homecare and Hospice and especially Audrey for her love and compassion.
Dad’s passing leaves a hole in our hearts, but we know he is now the brightest star in the sky.
Graveside services will be held at the Woodland Cemetery on Friday, March 16, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends will gather at the Woodland LDS Church from 11 to 12:30 prior to the graveside.
