George Brimhall

September 3, 1929 — June 21, 2015

On the morning of June 21, 2015, George H Brimhall passed away peacefully
from brain cancer at the Heritage Park Care Center in Roy, UT.  He was 85
years old.

George was born in Ely, Nevada on September 3,1929.  He was the fourth
child and the first son of Hattie Mae and Ralph Brimhall.
George grew up in Evanston, Wyoming attending Evanston schools and
graduating from Evanston High School in 1947.  After a year at Brigham
Young University he enlisted in the Navy, where he
served as a Sea Bee for four years.

He met his future wife, Shauna Jean Eyre, while on leave from his Sea Bee
duties.  Shauna was swept away by this dashing sailor, whom she described
as "A real gentleman and a person of high ideals and sensitivity."
After corresponding as pen pals during his final year in the Navy, George
and Shauna attended Brigham Young University and their relationship
deepened.  They were married on June 5, 1954 and recently celebrated their
61st anniversary.
Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 3,
1956.  The couple was blessed with two wonderful children.  George was a
faithful, devoted husband and father, ever loyal, kind and understanding.

George achieved the title of Master Electrician and worked for Cazins
until his retirement.  He donated his time as a volunteer fireman for 32
years.  He was scrupulous about details, and served as Financial Clerk for
his ward in the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for 17 years.

In his spare time, George enjoyed fishing, bowling, reading, doing
puzzles, and crafting wooden bird houses.  He liked being out doors.  He
kept his yard immaculate and tidy.  He did all the electricial work,
plumbing, and painting of his home.
He understood the value of hard work.  He loved animals and for most of
his life enjoyed the companionship of pet dogs, which he cared for with
gentle kindness.  He was a quiet man of few words.  He led his family by
example, modeling industry, honesty,
and integrity all the days of his life.

George was preceded in death by his mother, Hattie Mae Knutti Brimhall,
his father, Ralph Brimhall, and his sisters, Virginia (Mitch) Mitchell and
Darlene (Harry) Codere.

George is survived by his wife, Shauna Eyre Brimhall, his sister Betty
(Dale) Cluff, his son George Kipp Brimhall, his daughter, Kerry (Dale)
Rasmussen, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and 14 nieces and
nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Park Hospice Center
for their kind care during George's last days.
