George Bodine

February 3, 1937 — January 14, 2017

G. Lee Bodine, 79, passed away on January 14, 2017 at his ranch on the upper Bear River, south of Evanston Wyoming.  He was born on February 3, 1937 in Evanston, Wyoming to Harry Lee and Harriet Lillian (Robinson) Bodine.
He married Janice Bills in the Salt Lake Temple on June 28, 1957.  They had three sons.  She preceded him in death on April 13, 2005.
He later married RaNae Nicholls, on May 10, 2008 in Evanston, Wyoming.
Lee loved working outdoors and was a Surveyor for the Bureau of Public Roads following high school and a year at Utah State University.  He supervised survey crews in the western United States spending much of his time in the national parks.  During this time, they moved 36 times in 7 years.  In 1965 he returned to Evanston to partner with his Father at Blyth and Fargo where they worked together for 16 years.  He served as a Lieutenant with the Evanston Volunteer Fire Department during this time.  Following his time at Blyth and Fargo he returned to surveying with Uinta Engineering for several years.     He was also an Activity Bus driver for the School District for several years and had many fond memories of the Girl’s Volleyball and Basketball teams.   He has always enjoyed annual trips to Teton National Park and many road trips to the areas where he worked as a young man.
During the late 1980s, Lee and Janice bought their ranch on the Upper Bear River, south of Evanston where he was able to begin the life that he loved.  He spent many hours and developed a great friendship with fellow rancher Gregory Saxton.
Throughout Lee’s life, he shared a very special relationship and business dealings with his brother Don.  Don was with him whenever he was needed and helped him through multiple health crisis and was the first to respond at his passing.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many capacities, most recently as a temple worker in the Ogden Temple.
He is survived by his wife RaNae, and his children: Scott (Nancy) Bodine, of Ogden, Utah; David (Teresa) Bodine of Smithfield, Utah; Mark (Sherri) Bodine of Sandy, Utah; Lloyd (Doreen) Nicholls, Kellie (Brian) Welling; Todd (Kristin) Nicholls; all of Evanston; and Kevin (Sarah) Nicholls, of Buffalo, MN
