Gary Sharp

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Sharp, who peacefully entered eternal rest on April 14, 2025, at age 79. He was born May 30, 1945, in Preston, ID to Albert and Loretta Sharp.

Gary grew up on the family dairy farm in Winder Idaho. The sixth of ten children, Gary learned the value of hard work while working on the family farm.

Gary attended school in Winder, ID. He graduated from Preston High School in 1963. On October 15, 1965, Gary married the love of his life, Ann Dahlquist. They had 3 children, Elizabeth, Brian and Thomas. Gary and Ann were married for 37 years until her passing on Sept 2002. Gary then married Nancy Herbin in November 2006.

Gary started driving semi-truck when he was 16. His first job was working for his cousin, J.T. Sharp, driving for Sharp Transportation. He drove for Coke, Chevron, FMC and Burns Brothers just to name a few. When Gary retired, he had 60 years of driving truck.

Gary loved to hunt, fish and camp with his family in Island Park, when his kids were growing up. He also loved to hunt and camp with his grandkids.

Gary is survived by his wife, Nancy, his children Elizabeth (Darren) Lee, Brian Sharp, Tom (Lynn) Sharp. His grandchildren, Courtney, Afton, Everett, Daniel, Gary, Robert, Rylan, Elianna, Skylar and Serenity. Stepchildren Forrest, Jason and Britnie. Brothers Craig Sharp and Kevin Sharp; sisters Joann Catlett and Susan Benton and several nieces and nephews.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Loretta, his wife, Ann, his sisters Dorothy, Alta, and Kathy, his brothers Robert and Brent.

Funeral service will be conducted by Crandall Funeral Home. A viewing will take place at the Urie Stake Center on April 22, 2025, from 6p-8p. Funeral services will be on April 23, 2025, at 11am, with viewing/visitation an hour prior. Graveside services will be in Pocatello, ID on April 24, 2025, at 1pm at the Mountain View Cemetery.

We will forever cherish the memories of Gary Sharp and the lessons he taught us. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
