Flora Baker Marchant passed away Sunday, Feb 16, 2014 in Anchorage, Alaska. She was born on March 5, 1925 in Escalante, Utah to William and Margaret (Shirts) Mitchell.
She married C. Lester Baker on December 19, 1944 in the Saint George LDS Temple in Saint George, Utah. He preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 1957.
She later married A. Jay Marchant on Aug. 31, 1960 in Elko, Nevada. He also preceded her in death on June 28, 1997.
She was a member of the L.D.S. Church and served in many positions. She enjoyed personal history, and loved spending time with her family above all else.
She is survived by her sons: Wesley (Becky) Baker of Payson; Wayne (Diane) Baker of Seattle, Wa; Crae (Gayle) Baker of West Jordan; Ervin (Carol) Baker of West Jordan; and a daughter Jalynn (Glen) Jones of Anchorage, Alaska
Step-children: Bradley (Kathy) Marchant of Peoa; Sheila (Scott) Nichols of West Valley City; and Rhonda (Rod) Fitzgerald of Kamas
Also 45 grandchildren and 104 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren
Sister: Venned (Wayne) Bailey of Sandy, Utah
She is preceded in death by her two husbands, and brothers: Eldred and Cloyd; and sisters: Verna, Arthella, Retha, LaVean, Naida
Funeral service will be on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at 12 noon. in the Peoa LDS Ward chapel. There will be a viewing in the Harmon L.D.S. Ward Chapel, 4634 West Harmon Drive, West Valley City, Utah from 6:30 to 8:30 on Thursday evening, and from 10:30 to 12 noon prior to the service on Friday.
Interment will be in the Escalante City Cemetery on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. under the direction of Crandall Funeral Home, Kamas.
