Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great granny “Goose” returned to her Heavenly Father and parents and sons on October 6, 2014.
She spent the last seven years of her life at the Castle Rock Convalescent Center in Green River, Wyoming where she slipped away peacefully in her sleep. She was loved by everyone there.
Mom was born at 6:00 am October 19, 1930 to William & Mary Evelyn (Eva) Steele. She was the 8th child of ten children.
Mom loved working and helping her father on the family farm pitching hay and milking cows. She often talked of how she and brother and sisters would have to carry water from a spring so her mother could have water in the house. She also worked several other jobs.
Mom loved to fish and enjoyed going with her father many times. One of her biggest joys was playing bingo.
Mom loved children unconditionally and while not having her own six children for a while, she devoted her time in the church nurseries and also being a foster grandparent for the Child Development Center in Mountain View, Wyoming. The children loved her back unconditionally.
Mom had six children; Nancy E, Valerie M, William f “Billy”, Daniel l “Danny”, Dale L, and Jeffrey L. She had 14 grandchildren; Forrest, Jason, Britnie, Stephanie, Aaron, Kati, Maranda, Harrison, Liz Lee, Brian Sharp, Tom Sharp, Melisa, Scott and Travis. She had 41 great grandkids and one great-great grandson.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Emma Lavon Turner, Eudora Davis, Lillian, and Florence Orgill; brothers Thomas Ralph Woodland and Arnal Steele; two sons, William France Adams “Billy”, and Daniel Lamonin Adams “Danny” Sawyer; one great granddaughter Kali Borecky.
Viewing will be held at the Lyman, Wyoming LDS Stake Center in Urie on Friday, October 10, 2014 from 6-8 pm. A viewing will also be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 12 – 12:40 pm at the Goshen, Utah LDS Chapel, 70 South Center St, Goshen, UT, with graveside services and burial to follow at the Goshen Cemetery at 1 pm.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Child Development Center or the Senior Citizen Center in Mountain View, Wyoming.
