Evelyn Geraldine Dinsmore

Evelyn Geraldine Dinsmore, age 98, passed away on March 17, 2025 at her home.  "Gerry" was born September 28, 1926, in Granite City, Illinois to Oral and Mary Sexton.  She met Russell Harvey while he was in basic training at St. Louis, they had five children, Dennis, Philip, Larry, Tommy and Janice.  They later divorced and she married Douglas Dinsmore.  

Gerry enjoyed shopping, cooking, sewing and especially gardening.  She had made many quilts and table runners. During the spring and summer mom would be outside working in her garden from the sun up to sun down, very seldom letting the wind and rain stop her.

She is survived by Larry (Dayna) Harvey and Janice (Randy) Graville; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters  Mae and Pete; brothers Jim and Donald, husband Douglas Dinsmore, ex-husband Russell Harvey; sons Dennis Harvey, Philip Harvey and baby Tommy Harvey.  Graveside services will be held, Friday, March 21, 2025, at 10:00 am, at Evanston City Cemetery, 526 County Road, in Evanston.
