Edwin Embry

February 22, 1960 — August 27, 2022

Edwin Carl Embry, age 62, passed away early Friday morning at the VA Nursing
Home in Salt Lake City after a long and courageous battle with cancer.


He was born in Coalville, Utah on February 22, 1960, to Willis Edwin and Virginia
(Oliver) Embry. Ed attended South Summit Schools and graduated in 1978.


Following high school Edwin served his country in the Army. Earlier this year he
was awarded a medal for his service during the cold war. He was an excellent
mechanic and loved to fix cars; he could fix anything that had an engine. Besides
detailing his cars, he loved hunting with his brothers and friends, playing the
guitar, and cooking. Later in life he became an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He is survived by his siblings: Paula (John) Monroe-Fay; Louise (Michael)
Willoughby; Jay (Maxine) Embry; Lloyd (Sandy) Embry; Wilma (Kevin) Smith; and a
brother-in-law, Dennis Lenton (Jean).


He is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Virginia Embry, his sister Jean
Lenton, and his nephew Landon Embry.


On Thursday, September 1, 2022, family, and friends will gather at the
Cattleman’s Hall in Oakley, Utah from 12:00 to 1:30 followed by a graveside
service at the Marion Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.


The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at the Veteran’s Nursing
Home for the excellent care and kindness shown to Edwin during his stay. In lieu
of flowers a fund has been established at Venmo to be used to enhance this
facilities Courtyard where Ed and other veterans could find peace in the outdoors.
