Edward Fredrick Barnes age 79, of Evanston Wyoming passed away on July 1st, 2024. He was born on May 1st, 1945 in Evanston, Wyoming to Anor and Delphia Barnes.

Ed graduated from high school in 1963. He worked as a meat cutter for most of his life. He retired in 2010. Throughout his life he enjoyed the outdoors such as The Grand Canyon and Yellowstone National Park. He treasured seeing the bears in the wild and viewing the natural hot springs and geysers. He was fascinated with trains, particularly Big Boy. He even had a few model sets that he’d place around the Christmas tree. A true passion was celebrating the various holidays through decorations and seasonal treats, such as his infamous million-dollar fudge. His flag was always flying high for each patriotic holiday.

He married Anita Faddis on June 25, 1969. They were sealed in the Manti Utah temple on March 3, 2012 for time and all eternity. Together they had five children, that produced 16 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and two more great grandchildren on the way. Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He particularly loved the grandchildren, as he always enjoyed the younger generations.

Ed is survived by his wife Anita, son Travis Barnes and spouse Donita, grandchildren Jacob, Lane, Cole, Ethan, Sean, and Katherine; son Shorty (Justin) Barnes, grandchild Tyrel, great grandchild Oakley; daughter Tonya Dennis and spouse David, grandchildren Anissa, Alyssa, and Chaz, great grandchildren Davie, Lennox, and Emryn; son Jarred Barnes and spouse Krista, grandchildren Thane, Joe, and Sierra; daughter Julie Hand and spouse Phillip, grandchildren Calvin, Emmett, and Oliver.
