Earl Robert Maw passed away on August 15, 2015 in Oakley, Utah. Born on February 16, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah he was the eldest of eight children born to Earl L and Rhea (Boyce) Maw.
He married Diana Savage on March 11, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had five children in the 18 years they shared together before she passed away in 1973. Robert
later married Helene Whitney on May 1, 1974 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were
married for 28 years before she passed away in 2002. He married Judy Martin September 3, 2003 in the Salt Lake Temple, who also preceded him in death in 2010.
Robert was highly inquisitive and an avid reader, constantly seeking knowledge.
Always an independent thinker, he was intelligent and resourceful. An innovator at
heart, he enjoyed designing and building all kinds of things, including the two homes
he built on Beaver Creek in the mountains he loved. He was an active member of the
LDS church and served faithfully throughout his life. His keen wit, wisdom and insight
will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children: Kirk (Barbra) Maw; David Maw; Laura Clark; Leland
(Denise) Maw; and Parry (Jennifer) Maw; Stepchildren: Scott Viar; and Mark (Julie)
Viar; 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Also survived by his siblings: John (Grace) Maw; Bruce (Carol) Maw; Carolyn (Charles) Morgan; Roger (Sylvia) Maw; Susan (Mike) Mackintosh; George (Suzanne) Maw; and Christine Calder
He is preceded in death by his three wives, Diana, Helene, and Judy; his parents: Earl
and Rhea; and a son-in-law Gary Clark.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in the Kamas
L.D.S. Ward Chapel, 100 West Center Street. Viewing will be held on Friday evening
at the church from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to service on Saturday morning.
Interment will be in the Francis Cemetery under the direction of Crandall Funeral
Home, Kamas, Utah.
