Don J Burgener, 59, passed away May 29th, 2014. Don was born August 20th, 1954 to Ted & Darsa Burgener, in Heber City, UT. Don graduated from Wasatch High School in 1972. After graduating he worked construction with his father until moving to Wyoming in 1974. Don worked at FMC in Green River, WY until 1977. At this time he-moved to Heber where he went back to work side by side with his father. During this time he met his lovely bride. Don married his best friend Cathy Muir after a "painstaking" two month courtship. They were married July 28th, 1978 in the Provo Utah Temple. They moved back to Wyoming in 1980 to make their permanent home. He was blessed with the opportunity to go back to doing what he loved, working as a miner. "Burgi" spent 37 total years working underground with his many miner friends. The bonds he created throughout the years he spoke of fondly, and were cherished friendships he never took for granted. Don & Cathy were blessed with the greatest gifts of their lives, a son, daughter and 5 grandchildren. Don had many things that he loved in life. A simple drive by The Burgener residence on Platts St. in Lyman, WY shows his love for yardwork. He looked forward to his "Grandkid Day" every week. He loved spending many nights in the Uinta Mountains camping, riding anything with wheels, and spending time with his family and friends around the campfire. Anyone that had the chance to be in Dons "camp" knew they would be taken care of. Don never met a stranger, everyone he crossed paths with was a potential friend and felt better for rubbing shoulders with him. Don is survived by his loving wife Cathy, his daughter Marti, (Jared), grandchildren, Aspen Fraughton, Bodey Fraughton, Braxton Jane Burgener, Mollie Slagowski, & Kash Jake Williams. Father, Ted Burgener & Step-Mother, Betty Burgener. Siblings: Brother, Lynn Burgener (Diann); Sisters: Susan Smith (Larry), & Jan Kohler and many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his Mother, Darsa, Beloved Son, Jody, & Brother-in - Law, Ronnie.
