Desaree Schuttemeier

DesaRee Dawn Schuttemeier, born DesaRee Dawn Peterson in Rock Springs, WY on August 12, 1966, as the daughter of Virgil and Peggy (Cora) Peterson. She passed away at her home in Fort Bridger, Wyoming, June 1, 2023, at the age of 56.

The majority of her life she lived in Bridger Valley and went to school in Mountain View where she would meet the love of her life, even though they wouldn’t marry until much later.  On December 31, 2012, she married Frankie Martin Schuttemeier. With her 3 children and his 5 children they created a large family that she loved fiercely.

DesaRee received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah. She loved dance, drill team and cheerleading. She loved the ranch, the horses and saving many motherless kittens. She loved her dogs almost as much as a child but more than anything she loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and parents.

DesaRee is survived by her loving husband Frankie Schuttemeier; her parents Virgil and Peggy Peterson; her sister NathaLee Wilson (Matt); her brother Thayne Peterson (Cherilyn);

She is also survived by seven children, their spouses and eight grandchildren.  They are Jordan Starks (Luis) of Aurora, CO and Devyn Peterson of Fort Bridger, WY; Rusty Schuttemeier (Trit) with grandchildren Rylee and Ruthy of Fort Bridger, WY; Kacie Schuttemeier (Candice) and grandchildren Ariya and Jaydin of Rawlins, WY; Nickie Thiemann (Donald) and grandchildren Alex, Wyatt, and Dawson of Evanston, WY; Jessie Schuttemeier; Frankie Dalton Schuttemeier (Aubrey) with grandson Cedar all of Fort Bridger, WY.

DesaRee is also survived by six nieces and nephews as well as five great nieces and nephews. They include Shasta Siler (Dan), Kristispher Wilson (Jennie), Kasha Christopherson (Cody), Hunter Peterson (Janea), Ian Peterson, Lynlee Peterson, Kazzen Siler, NathaLee Siler, Madilyn Christopherson, Russell Christopherson, and Juniper Peterson

DesaRee was preceded in death by her daughter Ashley Dawn Starks; grandson Leighton David Allee; nephew Jesse Wayne Wilson and mother-in-law Liz Schuttemeier.

Memorial services will be held at the Mountain View LDS church on Saturday June 10, 2023, at 11:00. A luncheon will follow where memories and thoughts of her can be shared by all. Interment will be at a later date.
