The best Dad to ever walk the earth returned home on March 4th, 2023 in Keller, Texas. Dennis L. Broadhead was the embodiment of a “good man” with the eyes of an angel and a heart to match. Dennis was born June 9th, 1945 in Heber City, Utah to David Alden and Helen Mae Powers Broadhead. He grew up in the Heber Valley and from his own accounts had an idyllic, carefree childhood. Dennis married his one and only love Anna Lee Atkinson on March 16th, 1963. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple in April of 1964. Although they were young, they beat the odds and remained happily married until her death in 2009. At 17 years of age, Dennis began supporting his family by doing hard labor jobs in welding, lumber and mining. In 1973, he moved his family from Francis to Mountain View, Wyoming where he worked at FMC until he retired. Dennis was a man of many interests and talents. He was a lifelong hunter and fisherman who took great joy in being outdoors, whether on a hunting trip or family campout. Dennis reached a point where he enjoyed hunting with a camera instead and he then discovered his talent for photography. His photographs were inspiring, as was the poetry he wrote. Dennis was a strong, tough man with the soul of a poet. Above all, Dennis will be remembered for his sense of humor and his shenanigans that entertained everyone around him. He was an extraordinary, unforgettable father and grandfather. Dennis was preceded in death by his wife Anna Lee Atkinson Broadhead, brother Milan Broadhead, and sons-in-law Leonard Lawrence and Terry Pacheco. He is survived by sisters Joyce Lee, Heber City, Utah and Carol Anderson, Kamas, Utah; children Linda (Leonard) Lawrence, Springtown, Texas, Valorie (Terry) Pacheco, Layton, Utah, Laurie (Tim) Rader, Weatherford, Texas, Lezlie (Ian) White, Ladonia, Texas and Craig (Anna) Broadhead, Ellensburg, Washington; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Memorial will be held Thursday, March 16 th at Crandall Funeral home in Kamas, Utah, with a viewing from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and Services held immediately after.
