Corey Hal Peterson of Evanston passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, early on Sunday, May 26, in Riverton. He was born on Jan. 25, 1989, along with twin brother, Clint, to Jeff and Dannice Peterson of Bear River.
Corey attended college at Western Wyoming Community College and the University of Wyoming after graduating from Evanston High School. He was a very smart young man and seemed to know every trivia answer. He had an interest in political science and debating topics with friends and family such as legal rights and religion.
He was a gentle person and soft-hearted toward animals. He was quite handy and talented when it came to building, welding and vehicle mechanics. He was generous with his skills and often used them to make things for other people.
He welded many flowers and garden sculptures for his mom, Dannice, and sister, Kara. He and twin brother Clint helped their dad, Jeff, with building the home they lived in — projects such as putting in a bathroom vanity, tile work and trim, while in high school. Corey built his sister a work bench for her garage and helped his mom create the garden of her dreams.
A favorite family memory is about a phone call to mom Dannice from one of Corey’s elementary teachers calling to let her know young Corey had been the first student to finish his test but had then proceeded to walk around the classroom and offer “help” to the other kids taking the test! He enjoyed helping others .
