Colleen Crandall

July 21, 1929 — October 27, 2021

Peoa, Utah

Colleen Ruth Wardell Crandall passed away peacefully at Elk Meadows Assisted Living from Alzheimer on October 27, 2021. Colleen was born on July 21, 1929, in Rockport, Utah, the second of six children to Owen Douglas and Margaret Rees Wardell. She was 92.

Colleen grew up in Rockport, attended school, and helped her parents with their farm, tending chickens, pigs, cows, and riding their horses, Chief and Susie. She saw many changes in the world during her life. Several wars, electricity, indoor plumbing, the automobile, and that thing in everybody’s pocket called a cell phone.

Colleen was a strong, feisty red head who could hold her own and wasn’t afraid to smack any classmate who pulled her “carrot” hair or that was out of line picking on a friend. She was a farmer’s wife, loved her family, deeply devoted and loyal to her husband. She married Orland Crandall, January 16, 1947, and made their home in Peoa. Together they raised 8 children, Karla (Leo), Mark (Rebecca), Laraine (Bart), Janet, Curtis, Max (deceased), Lorie (Dale) and Scott (Erica). She loved her children, her 28 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She loved the family get-togethers.

Colleen taught her children to be hard workers by example, always alongside whatever the chore tending the mink or milking the cows. She was loving and caring. She will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, two sisters, one grandchild and one great grandchild. Survived by one sister, JoAnne Holyoak, and two brothers, Gail and Jay Wardell.

Services will be Wednesday, Nov. 3, with a viewing at 11 at Crandall Funeral Home, 105 E. Center St, Kamas Ut, graveside service at 12:30, Peoa Cemetery.
