Christopher Eugene Burkett (Bud) passed away at the age of 24, on November 3, 2015. He survived by his parents Christy and Kevin Burkett, his grandparents Clay and Carol Long, and Thomas and Virginia Burkett. Christopher was the brother of Crystal and Virginia Burkett and the father of Sherdian Lee Bassett.
He was the nephew of Kathy, Clayton (Uncle Homer), Satin, Stewart (Uncle Pudirt), Max, and Mary Long, Matt Powers, William, Val, Georgie, Audra, Nikki, and Tommy Burkett, and Amber Wisenbaker, Christopher passed away from a car accident on Turtle Hill a place he would often go to enjoy the outdoors.
Christopher was born on November 27, 1990 at the Evanston Regional Hospital in Evanston, Wyoming. He attended Mountain View High School. Christopher lived most of his life in here in Mountain View but also lived in Norfolk, Virginia and Blackfoot, Idaho. Christopher enjoyed hunting, fishing, boxing and shooting guns. He liked working with his dad enjoying father son time and had the kind of relationship with his mother where he could tell her everything, whether she wanted to know or not. He enjoyed spending time with his family in general and living life to the fullest.
Christopher never had any problem telling it like it was. One common quote of his was “don’t talk about it, be about it” and “Booya.” Christopher’s favorite color was black and hot pink, he would often say “real men wear pink.” The happiest day of his life was the birth of his daughter Sherdian (his mini me) aka Share Bear as he would say, which he shared with the love of his life, Kendra Yates. Christopher was a proud father. Sheridan is a spitting image of her dad and shares his spunky personality.
To those of us who knew him well, he had weird sense of humor from perversion to outright sarcasm. Bud had big heart, he would do anything for the people loved. He had a kind soul and made an impression on everyone he met. Bud was all about family whether it was hunting, camping or sitting in the garage drinking coffee with his grandma and grandpa. He loved spending time with his cousins on their “epic journeys” as he would call them. He enjoyed boxing with his little sister Virginia and playing video games with his older sister Crystal.
Some words to sum up Christopher are spontaneous, adventurous, lovable, truthful and caring.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 12 noon in the Mountain View High School Auditorium. Viewing will be 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 Friday.
Interment will follow in the Fort Bridger Cemetery.
