Charlotte Mae Maxon, 70, passed away on January 5, 2014. She was born on September 11, 1943 in Murdo, South Dakota to Alex Kusiek and Hazel Dunker. She had two siblings – Don Kusiek and Luella Saunders. After graduating high school in Brookings, Oregon she went on to become a nurse and EMT. Charlotte helped many people during her time at the Evanston and Kemmerer hospitals, the Bridger Valley medical clinic, Mountain Regional Services and as a Bridger Valley EMT.
Charlotte married George Maxon on January 14, 1966 in Medford, Oregon – Charlotte’s love for George began not long after they first met at a diner in Lyman, Wyoming. Charlotte is survived by her four children – Lisa, Nicole, Loren and Nathan. Charlotte’s grandchildren from oldest to youngest are Leslie, Alicia, Brandon, Brittney, Crystal, Justin, Meagan, Ryan, Julia, Chad, Kira, Emily, Arynn, Avery and Thomas. Charlotte also has one great-grandson named Brandon.
Charlotte was the heart of the Maxon Family and she always kept a warm and inviting home that drew people together. Her favorite time of year was springtime when she could tend to her flower gardens and gaze at the returning birds. Idleness was not in her vocabulary and she spent many hours sewing for her family and friends, creating things with her woodworking skills, and cooking many wonderful creations which will be passed down for many generations to come – the Christmas Season was especially amazing! Charlotte also enjoyed traveling and camping with family and friends.
She truly loved and believed in her husband George. She cherished her friends and the conversations they shared over the years. She will never be forgotten for all that she was and all that she did for others. She will be sadly missed!
