Carrol Maie Evans Turner passed away peacefully early Sunday morning on November 22, 2015 surrrounded by her family. She was born in Randolph Utah on Dec 11 1928 to Edward Lyman Evans and Thelma Hanney Evans. She was the 2nd child of 5. Carrol is survived by 4 children, Janice L Barnes, of Evanston, Roy J Turner Jr. (LeAnn) of Parrish FL, Jon E Turner (Debi) of Salida CO, Michael Evans Turner (Andrea) of Katy TX, a brother Marvin O Evans (Madelyn) of Eden UT, a sister Colleen E Carter of West point UT, a sister in law Rita Barker Evans of Skull Valley UT, a brother in law David Wayne Despain of Salt Lake City UT, 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved companion of 55 years Roy James Turner, her parents, an older brother Raymond E Evans (Denise) of Cypress CA, a younger brother Keith H Evans (Rita) of Skull Valley UT. Carrol and Roy were married on Jan 17th 1948 in Coalville UT and the marriage was later solemnized in the Manti UT Temple. Carrol worked for many years as a telephone operator for AT&T before dial phones came to Evanston. She then worked as a secretary for several years. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in numerous callings. She served as secretary in the Relief Society, as Relief Society president, Stake Relief Society President and Secretary. She also served in the primary. She and her husband served as service missionaries at the Bishops storehouse for 10 years. She served for many years as ward humanitarian leader, serving the church, community and the needy areas of the world. Her passion was her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, piecing and tying quilts both for her family and her humanitarian projects, reading books of all types, and her Kindle!
Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 28, 2015 at 10:00 am at the sage street LDS church. There will be a viewing on Friday November 27, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Crandall Funeral Home and from 9:00 to 9:45 at the church on Saturday.
Interment will be in the Evanston City Cemetery
