Carolyn Hansen Johnson Obituary
Carolyn Hansen Johnson, age 73, returned home after succumbing to cancer January 16, 2018, at home in Lyman, Wyoming. Carolyn was born December 23, 1944 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Mark James and Caroline Aston Hansen. She was the sixth of seven children growing up on the family farm. She married Samuel Johnson November 24, 1962 in Ely, Nevada. They were sealed in the Provo, Utah Temple September 30, 1983.In November, the couple celebrated their 55th anniversary. Carolyn invested most of her energy into her family of eight children, seven raised to adulthood, and her grandchildren. She also worked as a school bus driver and paraprofessional for Lyman School District and volunteered in many community endeavors including positions in her church (Lyman 1st Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) where Carolyn inspired and served many people of all ages. Quilting and making special family recipes like Swedish pancakes or Spudnuts were great joys in her life as she gave the fruits of her labors to loved ones, mainly her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. With every stitch or stir she infused love.
Carolyn is survived by her husband Sam, their seven children: Lane Johnson, Jadelyn (Mitch) Bailey, Dustin (Tiffany) Johnson, Kristin (Clint) Bradshaw, Holly (Thad) Faeth, Jed Johnson, and Specialist (U.S. Army) Alex (Dominque) Johnson; 23 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, her sisters Phyllis (Paul) Ashton, Laura (Randy) Carter, and brother George (Nancy) Hansen. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Joel Hansen Johnson, granddaughter Mindy Johnson, parents Mark and Carrie Hansen, brother Duane Hansen, and sisters Irene Blunt and Janet Lawrence.
Viewing will be 6-8pm, Thursday, January 18, 2018 and 10 am, Friday, January 19, 2018 in the Relief Society Room at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Lyman, Wyoming, 127 N. Main Street.
Funeral services will be held 11 am, Friday, January 19, 2018 in the chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Lyman, Wyoming. Burial will be at Spanish Fork Cemetery in Spanish Fork, Utah, Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11am.
The Johnson family would like to thank all those who served and assisted the family during Carolyn’s illness and beyond.
