Carol Vanhook passed away October 22, 2015 in Heber City, Utah.
He was born on November 27, 1932 in Berryville, Arkansas to Densel and Nettie Velma (Marshall) Vanhook.
He married Barbara Louise Russell in Elko, Nevada on September 3, 1961.
Carol loved to be in the mountains cutting timber, hunting or camping with his family. He loved horses and enjoyed rides in the mountains.
He is survived by his loving wife, Louise, of Kamas; Children: Gary Neal Vanhook of Emmett, Idaho; Don (Connie) Hortin of Lyman, Wyoming; Linda (Melvin) McCreary of Mt. View, Wyoming; Dian (Grant) O’Driscoll of Oakley; and Guy R. Hortin, of Henefer; one brother: Franky Earl Vanhook of Forum, Arkansas
Also, 21 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Sue Vanhook Williams; a sister Barbara Simpson; two brothers, Doyle and Lindell “Pete” Vanhook; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Hortin.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 26, 2015, at 12 noon in the Kamas L.D.S. Ward Chapel at 100 West Center Street, Kamas, Utah. Viewing will be on Monday morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
Interment with military honors will follow in the Oakley Cemetery.
