Brandon Wayne Barker
Brandon Wayne Barker passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the age of 33, due to complications of lymphoma cancer.
Brandon was born on May 10, 1980 to Gary and Beth Barker. He was the oldest of three boys. He was a good role model for his younger brothers and they looked up to him.
During Brandon’s school years he kept himself busy with 4-H, scouts, wrestling, cross country and track. He got his good work ethics from 4-H. He is an Eagle Scout. He competed in all sports as a varsity member. He raised lambs, pigs and horses, and showed them at the fair. Brandon also devoted his time as a young kid on the family ranch. He enjoyed working at the Evanston Rodeo Series, which he did for many years. When he got older he liked to hunt and fish, golf, snow machine and dirt bike with his friends. He really enjoyed trap shooting with his club.
Brandon was a 4-H leader for 13 years. He coached the wool judging teams and the livestock skillathon teams. He was the goat superintendent at the county fair. He dedicated a lot of his time and really enjoyed helping the kids with their projects.
He is survived by his parents; brothers Justin (Laura) Barker and Lane Barker; niece Kambree Barker and nephew Tuf Barker; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, and he will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral service will be on Monday August 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Almy Ward Chapel, at Oak and Elm. Friends may call at the Crandall Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Monday one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Evanston City Cemetery.
