Bevan Higbee of Wellsville, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2016 at the age of 83 in at the Sunshine Terrace Rehab Center ieen Logan of causes incident to his age.
Bevan was born in April 1933 as the second of three sons to Thurman and Thelma Higbee of Cedar City. He attended and graduated from Cedar City High School and then from Utah State University in Business Administration. While at USU, he met and married his sweetheart, Clarice Johnson of Logan. They were sealed together in the LDS Logan Temple in June of 1957.
He enlisted in the army soon after high school, serving honorably towards the end of the Korean War. Following his military service, he worked in various accounting positions, after which he had a successful 32-year career with the Federal government. He loved family, fishing, camping, golf and farming. Bevan and Clarice served faithfully as visitor site missionaries in the Palmyra/Hill Cumorah Mission.
Bevan is survived by his wife of 59 years- Clarice, his six children: James Higbee (Cheryl), Richard Arnold Higbee (Pat), Julia Higbee Bair (Bob), Ryan Devary Higbee (Karen), David Donovan Higbee, and Daniel Layne Higbee (Stephanie); 18 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and his two brothers: Edward “Ted” Higbee (June) and Wayne Higbee (Ann). He is preceded in death by his mother and father.
A viewing will be held at the Wellsville center chapel (195 South Center St, Wellsville) on Monday, July 25, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 11:00 am at the same Wellsville chapel, with a viewing beforehand from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Interment will follow at the Wellsville Cemetery.
