Betty Mason

September 24, 1967 — October 25, 2022

Evanston

Betty Jean Mason passed away unexpectedly on October 25, 2022.

She was born in Missouri on September 24, 1967 to Carla Jean Burleson and Harold Floyd Mason (father) and Charles Wayne Burelson (step-father).  As a resident of different areas she grew up to become a protector of her friends, a person that people could depend on, and a ray of sunshine to everyone she came across.

Betty was able to share her positive, shining personality in her profession of retail where she gave every customer that came her way a large smile just to make their day better. She became known as our “Happy Betty Boop.”

Betty was a nature lover, happiest when in mountains and by a lake, and was an avid hunter even skinning her own deer and elk. In Betty’s short life, she shared a stunning amount of love with her friends and siblings but her beautiful children and grandchildren held the most of her heart. Betty was an amazing mother.

There was nothing she would not sacrifice or fight for to give her children the best she could offer; she was the definition of motherhood. The amount of love she had for her children and grandchildren was indescribable.

Betty is survived by her three children: Savannah (Mason) Clark, Steven Mason and Kayden Mason. She is also survived by her siblings, Randi Allen, Dawna Van Otten, Harold Mason II, Connie Smith, and Becky Robertson.  Grandchildren Lexie Clark, Ayden Clark and Teagan Clark and 5 nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her brother Kevin Burleson.  Betty also has an extended family gained through her long-time relationship with John Russell that included children Janeen,  Jonathan, Jessica, Robert and grandchildren Isayah, Annastie, and Jonnali, she loved them all as her own!

An informal viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 10:00am to 12:00pm at Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston, Wyoming followed by a luncheon for family and friends.

Betty wishes to have her ashes spread in nature and donations to her families travel costs can be made in place of flowers or gifts through a Go Fund Me set up by the family: https://gofund.me/a63ecbed
