Betty Louise Brown, 83, passed away on June 29, 2013 at Wasatch Care Center in Ogden, Utah.
She was born on July 7, 1929 in Evanston, Wyoming to William Hutchinson and Helen Durnford Hutchinson. She married James E. Brown on May 28, 1949 in Evanston. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in October of 1961.
She lived her whole life in Evanston and worked at the Ranch Café, Gambles, Neponsit IGA, R & G Pharmacy, Blythes & Fargo, and JCPenney. She also served her church in many capacities. While serving and working she made many lifelong friends. She enjoyed her association in the DUP and reveled in family history.
She loved reading biographies and learning about history, staying alert to current events in the world and politics. Above all else, she loved her family and adored her grandchildren. She was selfless and would do anything for her family.
She was an exemplary home-maker, making her home a haven and place of peace. She was always busy having “no time for crafts or hobbies.” She was never without something to do and seldom sat long enough to enjoy leisure time.
She is survived by her sons: Rodney James (Candace) Brown of Ogden, Utah and Mark C. (Danae) Brown also Ogden. Her daughter: Celeste (Martin J) Olson of Evanston, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband and son-in-law, Martin Olson, a brother Herschel Hutchinson, and infant sisters Ruth and Alice.
Private graveside services were held on Friday July 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Evanston Cemetery.
We would like to thank the folks at Mountain Ridge Assisted Living of Ogden, Wasatch Care of Ogden, and Step Forward Hospice for all the help and care they showed to Betty.
