Betty Archuleta, 81 of Evanston, WY, passed away at home peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 26th, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Betty was born October 2nd, 1938 in Dixon, NM to Diego and Cora Archuleta Sr. Betty moved to Carter, WY with her parents in 1951 where she worked her first job at Carter's Cafe and later moved to Evanston in 1956. She was best known for her career at the Wyoming State Hospital where she devoted 25+ years to the patients and their families.
Her greatest joys in life were caring for her mother and spoiling her nieces, nephews, and fur babies.
As a passionate christian, Betty enjoyed attending church services along with showcasing her many religious treasures. Charismatic, feisty and caring, she was widely known for her "Gift of Gab". Of her many hobbies, Betty enjoyed camping/fishing with her loved ones, traveling to new places, and decorating her yard.
She is preceded in death by her parents Diego and Cora Archuleta, and four brothers, Dennis, Gilbert, Steve and Raymond Archuleta.
She is survived by her siblings; Joe Archuleta Sr. of Evanston, WY, Viv Lopez of Thermopolis, WY, Dora Roderick of Evanston, WY, Jenny Slagowski of Midvale, UT, Eddie and Mary Andersen of Casper, WY, and Diego Archuleta Jr. of Evanston, WY. Betty is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her adopted daughter Martha Dimas and many loyal friends, including Karen Deyo of Evanston, WY, along with her beloved dog Rico.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at 12:00 noon at the Evanston Cemetery. Sympathies may be expressed to the family at www.crandallfhevanston.com
