Barbara E Shrives Skinner was born December 9, 1921 to the family of Aurther Shrives and Nada Egan. She was born in Richmond, Utah. She was the first of a family of 11 children; five boys and six girls. Her siblings are Claine, Neil, Seth, Billy, Earlene, Hilda, Bonnie, Susan Myrna and Dee.
She grew up in Lava, Idaho at a sawmill watching after her siblings. She met and married Brigham Vero Skinner in 1937 and lived in Conda, Idaho where Brig worked in the mines. They moved to their beloved home in Cokeville, Wy in 1950 where they lived out their lives. They had four children; Boyd B, Ivan Lee, Virgil and Trixie Lee. Barbara loved camping, flowers, sewing and being surrounded by family.
She cooked for three ranchers; the Stoners, Coveys, and Carters. She also cooked for the construction workers who built the school in Cokeville.
Brig and Barbara spent 50 years together when Brig passed in 1988.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three siblings, two sons, and one grandson.
She is survived by four sisters, two brothers, her children; Ivan and Trixie. Also 12 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cokeville LDS Church in Cokeville, Wyoming. A viewing will be at the church from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs, Idaho at 1:30 p.m.
