Barbara Jean Savor passed away in her sleep after a short battle with cancer on April 25, 2020. She was in her home surrounded by her loving family and loyal dachshund, Sophie.
Barbara was born on October 21, 1944 in Duluth, Minnesota, where she spent her early days through high school graduation. Barb then trained and worked as an x-ray technician. She was married to Louis Savor on July 11, 1964 and shared her life with him until his untimely death in 2001. After her children were born, she stayed home with Suzie and Matt until they entered elementary school.
After 40 years of living in Minnesota, Barb, Lou, and children left their extended family and moved to Evanston for employment. Barb and Lou made Wyoming their home for the remainder of their lives. While in Evanston, Barb worked for 24 years as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. After retiring, Barb was part of several clubs and organizations including Angels Among Us, Red Hats, Eagles, and HEC Raisers. She enjoyed her Bunco, Canasta, and bowling groups, as well as spending time at Sarah’s Ceramics. Barb volunteered her time at church, blood drives, veterans events, and postal food drives. Barb had a lifetime talent and enjoyment of crafts of all kinds including spinning, weaving, knitting, crocheting, and ceramics.
Barb was a friend to many, and she had a great sense of humor with an infectious laugh. Above all, she was a loving mother and was looking forward to being “great” and meeting her new great-granddaughter Elara.
Barbara was survived by her children Matthew Savor, Suzann Koller (Rob), grandchild Monique Cunningham (Cade), great-grandchild Elara Cunningham, siblings Mary Kendzora and Jim Bronikowski, many nieces and nephews, along with an “adopted” granddaughter and several “adopted” sons.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Louis Savor, parents Frank and Fern Bronikowski, siblings Dorothy, Don, Bob, and Lory.
Due to safety precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, a private graveside service is planned for Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at the Evanston Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Fort Bridger, Wyoming.
